Meghan King Edmonds Shares Surprising Relationship Advice: “The Best Marriages Are Flawed”
Meghan King Edmonds and her husband, Jim Edmonds, celebrated Halloween in the most spookily romantic way: They dressed up as a pair of zombies. (Look, Halloween is not the night for champagne and caviar; it’s the night for eyeballs for two!) When sharing the look on Instagram, Meghan used it as a segue to introduce her latest blog post. Here’s what she wrote in her caption:
“After four years of marriage, we’ve turned into zombies! But seriously, marriage doesn’t have to be scary. I wrote a blog on the top five things I’ve learned in our four years of marriage.” And over on her blog, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum got way more real than the threat of a zombie apocalypse.
Riffing off the concept of “love languages” — which, as Vicki Gunvalson well knows, basically describes how people in a relationship show affection — Meghan admitted that she and Jim speak different ones.
“Jimmy likes acts of service. I like quality time. If you aren’t sure how your spouse speaks ‘love’ just watch how he communicates his love to you. Jimmy will wash my car or clean the kitchen. Even though these are nice, I’d rather the two of us have a nice dinner without cell phones or go on a field trip to the museum. But, I understand that ‘quality time’ isn’t his first (love) language so it’s not as natural for him to think of doing something like this. Nudging him in the right direction is fine but also embracing what he perceives as the greatest acts of love is going to make everyone happier.”
She also encouraged her followers to embrace the flaws in their marriages — because what relationship is flawless? “We are inundated with perfection via social media. It’s not real,” Meghan wrote. “Remind yourself of that. The best marriages are flawed. You read that correctly: the best marriages are flawed! How? Because they allow their marriage to be a work in progress and don’t put pressure on it to be magically better or different or something they wish it was instead. Just live in the moment and work through differences as they come.”

Dr. Jackie Walters on Marriage with Curtis Berry: “We've Had to Tear Down to Build Up”
Dr. Jackie Walters and her husband, Curtis Berry, celebrated their 16th anniversary on Sunday night’s episode of Married to Medicine with a romantic dinner at a French restaurant. However, no one was sure the couple would actually make it there after they dealt with Curtis’ infidelity last season.
But is everything as très magnifique for Dr. Jackie and Curtis as it looks? Dr. Jackie shared where things really stand with her and Curtis today when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Sunday night (clip above). “We’re in a good place. I mean, we’ve had to tear down to build up,” she shared. “We’re really in a good place.”
Dr. Jackie shared a similar sentiment, saying that she and Curtis were “in a much, much better place,” during an interview with The Daily Dish back when this season of Married to Medicine first began. However, she knew that reliving their difficult past through the show could bring back those painful memories. “We’re still in a better place of healing and of course reliving the story on the show brings back those memories and can take me to a really dark place,” she told The Daily Dish in September. “But overall, he’s a keeper today.”
Trust is one of the areas that Dr. Jackie and Curtis are still working on rebuilding. “I think trust is a process and completely regaining trust is going to take a while,” she told The Daily Dish last month. “Some of the sensitive areas still come up, and I cannot tell I’m 100 percent there, but I’m there enough to stay married to the man.”
Dr. Jackie didn’t hold back her thoughts on the other Married to Medicine relationships during her appearance on WWHL. Check out her marriage advice for the crew, below.

Royal news: Harry yelled 'what Meghan wants she gets' in pre-wedding meltdown rant – claim
The Duke of Sussex is said to have insisted “what Meghan wants, she gets” ahead of the Windsor Castle ceremony on May 19.
According to Charles At Seventy: Thoughts, Hopes And Dreams the weeks leading up the wedding were tense for Harry and Meghan.
It is claimed the couple were so stressed out they booked appointments with Ross Barr, who is known as the “acupuncturist to the stars”.
But according to Prince Charles’s biographer Robert Jobson, Harry endured a “pre-wedding meltdown”.
The claims are among several explosive revelations in the new book.
Meghan’s relationship with Charles is said to be key the Prince Of Wales becoming closer to his youngest son, Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex is even said to have asked Charles’ advice on what music to play at her wedding ceremony.
A source sold Mr Jobson: “When Meghan met the Prince of Wales, she was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm.
“She told Prince Harry he was wonderful; welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”
Meghan is also said to be fascinated with British royal history and to pore over notes about the Commonwealth.
Charles recognises his own campaigning zeal and philanthropic streak in his new daughter-in-law, it is claimed.
In the run-up to his wedding, Harry hailed Prince Charles’s “selfless drive” during an emotional speech, the book says.
He was speaking at his father’s official 70th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace in May, three days before he tied the knot with Meghan.
Harry said: “Pa, while I know you’ve asked that today not be about you, you must forgive me if I don’t listen to you.
“Much like when I was younger. Instead, I ask everyone here to say a huge thank-you to you, for your incredible work over nearly 50 years.
“It is your selfless drive to effect change, whether that is to improve the lives of those who are on the wrong path or a particular species under threat, which William and I draw inspiration from every day.”
Prince William was not present at the celebrations as he was at an official event to mark the first anniversary of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack.
Charles turns 70 on November 14.
Waiting to leave our spouses
Hello Meredith,
Twenty years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet the most amazing woman. We dated for six years and got engaged. I was divorced with a child and had many personal issues with my ex and my family. None of them approved of this woman, which made our relationship – and engagement – very difficult.
I made a decision to leave her to save her (and myself) from all of the fighting. We both moved on, both married and had children with other people. But we have reconnected over the past few years and have admitted that we aren’t over each other and that we have unfinished business. We both agree that we would like to experience what could have been. We have talked and seen each other now on many occasions and it’s obvious the spark still exists. We haven’t been together physically this time around. We don’t even kiss.
Both of our marriages aren’t the best, but we are both still married to other people. I have told her I would leave my marriage for her. She said she would also leave her marriage, but asked me to wait and hasn’t given me a timeline. I love this woman and I know I was 100 percent the reason for our split. I have no clue what to do. I’m afraid to wait and that she’ll change her mind. She swears she won’t. I don’t want to string my wife along through this process.
– Waiting
“I don’t want to string my wife along through this process.”
Well, that’s what you’re doing. It sounds like you’ve been setting up a second life without telling your wife that there are any real problems. You say your marriage “isn’t the best,” but does she have any idea that that you’re basically out the door?
You owe your wife the truth – before you pack your bags. Please tell her you’re unhappy and that you’ve been making plans without her. Let her ask questions and think (and talk) about how she wants to proceed.
Please know that she might want to work on the marriage. She might have questions about what you can fix together, with help. You should think about whether you’re open to that kind of effort, and what going to a counselor could do. Perhaps it would make it easier to discuss next steps. It also might remind you why you’re in this marriage to begin with.
My advice is to focus on your marriage and what to do with it. I know the other woman is the one on your mind, but you can’t be a good partner to her without dealing with your current commitment. Do not skip that step.
– Meredith
