26 Tweets That Prove The Best Part Of Breaking Up Is Tweeting About It – HuffPost
On the surface, there’s nothing funny about a breakup. But if you’re self-deprecating, witty and can laugh at your pain, few subjects are funnier.
Below, 26 tweets that somehow find the humor in breaking up. (For some of them, here’s hoping their exes have already hit unfollow.)
Dad secretly places dating ad for his 3 'wonderful, successful, handsome, alas unmarried' sons – Yahoo Lifestyle
Lock up your daughters, parents — three American men are traveling abroad, and their father is hoping to find them some lady friends.
Neil, a father from Oregon, placed an ad in the New Zealand Herald this week hoping to set up his three “unmarried sons” on a few blind dates while they’re visiting for a holiday.
It’s hard to blame dear old dad for trying to help his single sons meet women while traveling.
“We are from the States (Oregon), visiting your beautiful country,” the ad began. It went on to say: “My wife and I have three wonderful, successful, handsome, alas unmarried, sons between the ages of 28-32. We are not expecting, just hoping, to introduce our sons to nice NZ daughters.”
In an interview with the Herald, Neil explained, “We like to travel and I have gone with my kids to Europe, Australia and Japan, but we have never really interacted with anybody and in my mind I was just interested in them getting to know people, meeting people their age, and maybe develop some lasting, permanent relationships.”
He added, “I have never done anything like this before and they don’t know. They are clueless, which I love.”
That’s right — the three sons don’t know that their father placed the ad.
Neil told the Herald he has already received more than 200 emails. “It is hard to tell how many are genuine,” he said. “A few are maybe just scammers but for the most part people are really amazingly nice in your country.”
So who is going to buy the movie rights to this story? The montage of three men meeting 200 women just reeks of a summer rom-com hit.
For the ladies in New Zealand, here are some more deets on our eligible bachelors. Benjamin, 26, is a consultant in Seattle. Jeremy, 28, is involved in a number of not-for-profit organizations. Matthew, 31, works in real estate in Portland (we suspect it’s the Portland in Oregon, but our source neglected to say).
“I know one of my sons uses these dating sites and is always going on introductory dates and meeting somebody, but he hasn’t had a serious relationship in quite a while,” Neil said. “I decided to help. I have no idea what will happen, but at least we will be able to meet some people.”
Neil plans to inform the boys of the ad while they’re on the plane to New Zealand — so there is no escape — should they not discover the now viral news on their own.

Pisces is such an idealistic and romantic sign, so it’s only natural that Libra is a perfect match! Libra is ruled by Venus, planet of beauty, love, and pleasure, and Libras are optimistic and open-minded, just like Pisces. Sagittarius is another great match for Pisces! Both need to have a sense of freedom, so giving each other space isn’t a problem.
A man born under the Pisces constellation, the final sign of the Zodiac, is a total dreamboat. He’s flirtatious, charming, and romantic, and, being a water sign, he’s also introverted and emotional—the most emotional sign of all, to be precise. His sign is also classified as mutable, meaning he’s adaptable and changeable. This is most reflected in his ever-shifting moods–he has a stream of emotions that never slows down, and an immense imagination. He’s an idealist and is unapologetic about being affectionate, but when his mood is on a down swing, it can be tough to be around him. However, when he’s back to his usual sweet self, you’re on cloud nine with him!
His sign is ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusions, and in-depth emotional connections. This is the root of his fantastical imagination and his romantic, compassionate nature, as well as his natural intuition. He’s a true empath, picking up on others’ emotions and experiencing them just as strongly, whether he wants to or not. So when you’re having an off day, he knows it and immediately swoops in to cheer you up. His sign is also ruled by Jupiter, the planet of abundance and generosity, explaining his enormous range of emotions as well as his natural ability to provide care and support for others. Nine times out of ten, if you’re happy, he’s happy, so he naturally wants to make sure your mood is always up.
His sign is named after the constellation of the Fish, which is symbolic of many of his behaviors. He floats through life without a care, and sometimes gets caught up in a current of feelings, but he typically navigates the world in a simple, slow-moving manner. He’s very in-tune with the underflowing emotional energy wherever he is, and rapidly swims upstream when he feels threatened or overwhelmed, which is a life-saver when it comes to disagreements. He’ll work to get through the conflict peacefully, preferring to forgive and forget rather than let an argument cause a divide between the two of you.
Your starry-eyed Pisces man lives with his head in the clouds, constantly daydreaming his own little world where everything is calm, pleasant, and romantic. He looks at you and sees a soul mate. He wouldn’t date anyone unless he felt like they were his perfect match, because he demands that his real life relationships are just as idealistic as the fantasy he’s constantly in. He’s totally subjective and driven by vague ideas and fantasies about love. When it comes to life in the bedroom, the physical act of sex is just a part of the spiritual, poetic bond he’s really after.
His abundance of romantic ideas and lovey emotions is swell and all, but making a relationship work takes more than just good intentions! His emotions rule his life so heavily that you can rule out using logic, reason, or rationale to get in touch with him. Mercury, planet of intellectual thoughts and communication, is actually considered to be detrimental in Pisces, so verbalizing his thoughts and feelings isn’t easy at all. That, all on top of his sign being ruled by hazy, foggy Neptune can lead to serious conflict. This little fish swims tends to swim away the second someone raises their voice or takes a sharp tone with him, which contributes to his problematic escapist reputation.
As the Zodiac’s most subjective sign, he lives life strictly on his own terms. He’s impossible to pin down and slips right through your fingers if you try to grab a hold of him. Emotional boundaries are hard to set and enforce with him because his need for space, intimacy, affection, or alone time all shift and change in tandem with his ever-morphing mood. In a relationship, his giant heart overflows with affection and adoration for you, but his impossibly-high standards for a relationship to always be easy and perfect causes inevitable issues.
Date a Pisces if you can forgive his lack of schedules and planning in exchange for impromptu romantic gestures. He prefers to express himself with feelings and gestures rather than thinking over and talking about things, so if you aren’t emotionally compatible, chances of staying together are slim—not everyone is capable of the openness that he requires. He’s very sensitive, and it’s in his nature to vanish for alone time when he’s feeling overwhelmed, then return super needy. From start to finish, your relationship with him will be a wild ride. If you can’t swim through his downpour of feelings, you might find yourself drowning. Without a doubt, you’ll be more in touch with your emotions after getting with a Pisces!
