America's Got Talent Finale: Meet Season 13's Top 10 Finalists

The nation has voted!

The America’s Got Talent finale is Wednesday night, and the 10 finalists who will perform are an eclectic mix of singers, musicians, acrobatic groups and comedians. Here’s who might be going home with the big prize after the results show.

1. Courtney Hadwin

The 14-year-old singer was Howie Mandel’s golden buzzer pick after she performed Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle” during her audition. The judge told her that she reminded him of Janis Joplin, and she’s been blowing viewers’ minds with her rocker-chick style — especially her rendition of “Born to Be Wild.” Hadwin hails from Durham, England.

2. Brian King Joseph

From Los Angeles, Brian King Joseph is a violinist who shatters expectations with his covers. His repertoire on the reality show so far has included Fall Out Boy‘s “Centuries” and Kanye West‘s “Heartless.” He’s 27 years old.

3. Michael Ketterer

Simon Cowell is the 40-year-old singer’s number one fan. The judge used his coveted golden buzzer on Ketterer and even asked Garth Brooks to write the contestant a song after his performance of Miley Cyrus’ “When I Look at You” at the semifinals. Ketterer is from Anaheim, California.

4. Shin Lim

A 26-year-old magician from Acton, Massachusetts, Lim specializes in close-up tricks and regularly wows the judges who sit at his table. One of his go-to moves is rising smoke from a deck of cards and then vanishing it all. Regardless of the finale’s outcome, Lim has plans to perform alongside The Illusionists, a group of magicians who also got their start on the reality competition.

5. Vicki Barbolak

Barbolak is from Oceanside, California, and captured the nation with #TrailerNastyTuesdays and her stand-up comedy sets about dating advice, travel and more. After the semifinal, Cowell even told the 60-year-old that he has a “crush” on her.

6. Zurcaroh

The Austrian acrobatic group won Tyra Banks‘ golden buzzer thanks to their gravity-defying strength and mesmerizing costumes. With the youngest member just 8 years old, Zurcaroh could become the first dance group to ever win the show.

7. Duo Transcend

These trapeze artists — and married couple! — from Salt Lake City, Utah, made a comeback after the husband dropped his wife in the judges’ cut round. Their performances are terrifying (seriously, they used blindfolds during the finale!) and fascinating all at once.

8. Glennis Grace

The 40-year-old from the Netherlands chooses songs that require big vocals, from Whitney Houston pieces to The Greatest Showman soundtrack — and she always delivers. In fact, she’s so astonishing that the fact that she never received a golden buzzer is controversial among fans.

9. Samuel J. Comroe

The 30-year- standup comic from Los Angeles often jokes about living with Tourettes Syndrome, family dynamics and relationships. He almost went home in the semifinals but received a Dunkin’ Save thanks to America’s votes.

10. Daniel Emmet

At just 20 years old, this opera singer has a voice far beyond what his age would suggest. He was brought back by the judges as a wild card and regularly takes risks with his song choices. He turned Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” into a Spanish hymn, and he’s also performed show tunes, including from West Side Story.

Kevin O'Leary shares his No. 1 piece of advice for paying off student loans

More than 44 million Americans currently have student loans, and Americans held nearly $1.38 trillion in student debt at the end of 2017, according to the New York Federal Reserve.

For the young people who are just now taking on student loans, personal finance expert Kevin O’Leary has a word of advice: Pay them off immediately.

“Get rid of that student debt right up front while you’re young and frisky, that’s the time to do it,” the star of ABC’s “Shark Tank” tells CNBC Make It.

His advice? Instead of paying a little bit at a time, make paying off your student debt your No. 1 priority after graduation.

“You should pay that loan off in 36 months if you can do it,” O’Leary says.

That “means you’re cutting back your lifestyle significantly. You’re spending up to 40 percent of your paycheck just to get rid of it. Why? Because it’s a very nasty thing to have hanging over your head for a very long period of time,” he explains.

Indeed, even Baby Boomers are still paying off their student loans, according to analysis of 2017 student loan data by Experian. Boomers, ages 50 through 70 in Experian’s report, held an average student loan balance of $36,246.

There are 6.8 million student loan borrowers between the ages of 40 and 49, according to 2016 data from the Federal Reserve. Together, those graduates hold a collective $229.6 billion in debt.

While many young people imagine it will be easier to pay off their loans later in life when they have a higher salary, O’Leary argues that by that point, you will also have higher expenses, less time and more responsibility.

“The minute you establish a lifestyle and you start going out for dinner, and you start dating or you get married, all of a sudden, you have all kinds of other expenses, not necessarily just paying off your loan,” O’Leary says.

“That’s why you want to pay your loan off as fast as you can, before your lifestyle starts to really creep in on you and make you spend more on things like vacations, and dating, and dinners, and when a child comes along, all of those expenses.”

Plus, the earlier you pay off your loan, the more you save in interest payments over time.

Student loan interest rates are “generous at the beginning, but over the long term that interest really adds up,” O’Leary says. For federal undergraduate student loans, the interest rate is 5.05 percent for the 2018-2019 academic year, up from 4.45 percent last year.

For a loan of $50,000 with that interest rate, paid off over 10 years with a minimum payment of $50 per month, a graduate would end up paying $14,473.25 in interest, according to a calculator by PrivateStudentLoans.guru.

In order to pay off that $50,000 loan in just three years, a borrower would have to make payments of $1,500 per month, according to the calculator. But by funneling so much money toward monthly payments and reducing the length of the loan, the total amount paid in interest falls by almost $10,000 down to $4,616.36, according to the calculator.

O’Leary argues the short-term focus is worth the long-term savings.

“I know it sounds like a lot, but really smart people figure this out pretty quickly and they focus on getting rid of that debt,” O’Leary says.

Awks! Did Kem Cetinay just hint he made the WRONG decision to couple up with Amber Davies on Love Island?

Kem appeared to make a dig at his ex

It’s been a whole year since Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies won the Love Island crown – and A LOT has happened since these two walked hand in hand out of the villa.

For starters, they’re definitely not together anymore following their rather public split just 132 days after the show came to an end.

Then there was that VERY awkward moment when the pair seemingly swapped seats to move away from each other at the National Television Awards.

Oh, and the time Amber took a swipe at her ex when she quipped: ‘Who would pick some curly locks and a few abs over a lovely gentleman?’, referring to Megan Barton-Hanson‘s decision to choose Eyal Booker in this year’s Love Island.

And it seems like the tension isn’t over between these two as 22-year-old Kem appeared to hint he regrets his decision to pick Amber on the ITV2 dating show.

More: Eek! Did Love Island’s Amber Davies just take a swipe at ex boyfriend Kem Cetinay?

While appearing on Lorraine today, the Dancing One Ice star was tasked with dishing out dating advice to Carol Vorderman.

When the telly presenter asked Kem about being in Love Island, he confessed: ‘I thought it was going to be the perfect relationship.

‘You kind of want someone to always show you attention but then you realise you can be alright on your own.

‘I used to go for the girl who I thought was the most attractive, but after a certain amount of time you realise that there isn’t anything there.’

He then added: ‘I realised what my mum said was right, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover.’ Eeek!

This comes after Amber opened up about the pair’s split back in June, saying it ‘was a case of the right person at the wrong time.’

Speaking on Lorraine, she said: ‘I struggled a little bit when we first broke up and Kem knows that.

‘He was so brilliant with me. I’d message him and he’d talk me through it.’

‘Kem and I were in two different stages in our lives. He obviously still lived with his parents. I was his first girlfriend, where I’d been in numerous relationships. I moved to London at 16 and was independent.

‘It wasn’t our fault that we didn’t work. For me, I always say, it was the right person but just at the completely wrong time.’

The 9 best dating sites and apps for gay men

Gone are the days of having to go out to a crowded bar or expensive club just to meet a cute boy. Now, you can look for love (or even a casual hookup) from the comfort of your couch, no pants required. Gay dating sites and gay dating apps for men have become the norm over the years—but that also means there are too many to keep track of.

When it comes to dating apps, nobody wants to feel overwhelmed by choice or pigeonholed into swiping through Tinder for the thousandth time. Here’s a list of the best gay dating sites to help you on your search for Mr. Right—or at least Mr. Right Now.

The best gay dating sites and gay dating apps for men

1) Grindr

Let’s kick things off with the one app that everyone knows—even straight people! Grindr dubs itself as the world’s largest social networking app for gay, bi, trans, and queer men, but that networking leads to pretty much one thing—sex. Just post a photo, fill out your stats, and wait for those thirsty pick-up lines to start pouring in.

Beyond just scrolling through photos of cute boys and headless torsos, Grindr started its own queer digital magazine called Into. So now you can find a man and brush up on the latest in gay news and pop culture. Grindr is free to join, but you can see more guys and include more filters in your searches when you upgrade to an XTRA account for $19.99 a month.

Cost: Free

XTRA Account Membership Options:

  • Monthly access: $19.99/month (with a free 7-day trial)

2) Adam4Adam

Long before Grindr was a speck in a gay entrepreneur’s eye, Adam4Adam provided a platform for men to meet other men “for friendship, romance, or a hot hookup.” Launched back in 2003, the site stands apart from its competition by providing full access to its entire range of services at no cost at all.

Instead of charging users to upgrade, Adam4Adam makes its money from advertising things like porn sites and drugs for erectile dysfunction. As a one-stop shop, the site also features a section to view live cam shows from handsome models, as well as a sex store to purchase items for when you meet up with the new man of your dreams.

3) Scruff

When Scruff first launched in 2010, it was meant to be a place for a certain type of bearded gay man to look for hookups (think: more bear, less twink). But since then, it has become a leading dating platform featuring over 12 million users of all types. In addition to the Grindr-style layout that allows you to scroll through pages of potential suitors, the app also features a travel section that helps users get tips about the cities they may be visiting, as well as an events section that highlights upcoming queer activities in your area.

One downside is that the photos that guys send will disappear after a few minutes of chatting unless you pay for a pro account, which is inconvenient seeing as you obviously need to scroll back up and reevaluate what the gents are working with before making any important decisions about meeting them in person. Scruff Pro is available starting at $14.99 per month, though the price goes down if you sign up for a longer subscription.

Cost: Free

Pro Membership Options:

  • 1-month access: $14.99
  • 3-month access: $13.33/month
  • 1-year access: $9.99/month

4) GayFriendFinder

The website GayFriendFinder has actually been around since 1996, and it looks as though the site hasn’t received much of a facelift since then. While the design feels a bit dated and simplistic, it provides a pretty straightforward opportunity to meet men without having to fuss with the many bells and whistles that other sites tout. That lack of keeping up with the times, however, seems to be keeping the site from attracting new users. Most tend to be older gay couples looking for new friends or groups for sex.

It’s also worth noting that at the time we accessed it, the site showed that only eight users total were online. That’s slim pickings compared to the other sites on this list. There’s also very little you can do with a free account, but you can upgrade to a Silver Membership or a Gold Membership.

Cost: Free

Membership Options:

  • Silver Membership: $22.99/month
  • Gold Membership: $34.99/month

5) OutPersonals

With currently over 1.3 million members, OutPersonals touts itself as the “world’s largest gay dating and hookup site” on the web. Members get features including standard chat, video profiles, webcams, and blogs. And while a free membership allows you to create a profile and start searching, you can’t actually communicate with other members unless you pay.

Upgrading to a Gold Membership also provides you with advanced search capabilities and puts you at the top of search listings. It even comes with a guarantee that you’ll hookup, or you’ll get three months free.

Cost: Free

Membership Options:

  • Gold Membership: $29.96/month

6) ManPlay

ManPlay is another site offering a “hookup guarantee,” as it is certain that users will have success finding the kind of guy they’re looking for while browsing profiles. The site prides itself on diversity, declaring that “whether you’re a gay couple in your 40s looking for a third or a single Asian twink in his 20s,” you’ll be able to find what you need.

Users can browse profiles and photos for free, but you’ll have to upgrade if you want to communicate. A Silver Membership allows you to reply to emails and directly message other members. Take things a step further with a Gold Membership to have your profile highlighted at the top of search results.

Cost: Free

Membership Options:

  • Silver Membership: $29.95/month
  • Gold Membership: $34.95/month

7) Gaydar

Based in the U.K., Gaydar was first founded in 1999 as a desktop-only website. Ten years later, it upgraded to the world of mobile apps, allowing users even more freedom in finding sexy singles. The site allows the usual one-on-one messaging opportunities, but also provides chat rooms for people looking for a sense of community. There are blogs that feature a variety of topics including dating advice, gay lifestyle articles, and a health and fitness section.

Upgrading to Premium allows members to view who has been peeping their profiles, in addition to unlimited profile views and more powerful filtering tools.

  • Monthly access: £3 ($3.94)

8) SilverDaddies

SilverDaddies is a site marketed for mature men and younger guys who are “interested in keeping their daddy happy and/or sexually satisfied.” The site allows users to create their own personal ads and features a rotating gallery of silver foxes and the boys who love them. The site’s design is extremely basic, but that could be a plus for older gentleman who would prefer to skip all the complicated tabs and features that more modern platforms provide.

But be careful not to head to SilverDaddies while you’re at work. Pornographic photos from other members are not only allowed on profiles, but they’re featured prominently on the homepage the moment you arrive. The site is free to use, but contributions to help keep things running are welcomed.

Cost: Free (donations encouraged)

9) Gays

Gays.com provides a platform for guys to search the profiles of like-minded gay men in order to find a date. But in addition to the usual search and chat functions, the site lets you search for Pride events around the world and will match you up with other guys traveling to the same parties.

Gays.com also lets you share your own sexy stories or write about your sexual fantasies in its online open forum, as well as learn more about the queer community through its digital magazine. It also appears to be great for traveling, as it lets you find gay bars, clubs, saunas, and sex parties wherever you are. Best of all, it is completely free to join and you can use most of the site’s features at no additional cost.
