Faye Tozer might not have won Strictly Come Dancing, but she definitely does deserve congratulations for avoiding the ‘Strictly curse’ that has split up many celebrity relationships.

Countless celebrity contestants before her have fallen under the spell of their professional partners, and, in fact, co-star Joe Sugg and his partner Dianne Buswell seem to be “head over heels” now.

Yet, Faye has told The Sun that she never worried for a second that her nine-year marriage to Michael Smith would be in trouble.

“We have been married for nine years and we’ve always worked away from each other,” she said. “I’ve always toured. The fact I was on Strictly doesn’t change anything for us. We are solid. As long as we knew we were safe and solid at home, it was all good.”

She went on: “I think it’s down to the individual couples. For us, we have a real marriage. We have our ups and downs like everyone else and I think communication is the key and just being supportive, I guess.”

Faye’s professional partner Giovanni Pernice didn’t quite escape cupid’s arrow on set, though. They’ve yet to officially go public as a couple, but Giovanni has got very close to Faye’s Strictly competitor Ashley Roberts.

“Ashley is a hot chick, she is a sexy mama and Giovanni is a young, single, fabulous guy, so yeah,” Faye teased. “They would make a great couple.”

Perhaps Faye can give Giovanni tips on how to make his budding romance go the distance, as payback for countless hours of dance training over the last few months?
