Less Than a Year Into Marriage, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth Want to Give Relationship Advice
What the..? Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are receiving some pretty major backlash on social media after promoting a marriage testimony they are set to give at the Fort Rock Family Camp’s Spring Marriage Retreat at the end of April. Fans went into a frenzy in the couple’s comments section on Instagram giving them hate for trying to hand out advice when they’ve only been married for less than one year themselves. Watch the video above and see what the fans had to say!
While some people were intentionally nasty, others sarcastically gave their opinions about why this is such a bad idea. “Ah yes, the testimony of two sheltered people. Just what I want to hear at a marriage retreat,” one person said. Another wrote, “Joy has literally next to zero life experience outside being under Jim Bob’s thumb and I get the vibe from Austin that he’s a control freak. Good luck with that life, kids.”
Joy-Anna responded to the backlash and said that no testimony is “too small” for the Lord. She explained that she’ll be using her platform at the event to speak about how the Lord brought her and Austin together. With Joy-Anna and Austin set to spread the word about their relationship, there is no confirmation yet on if any of the other Duggars will also make an appearance.
Austin and Joy-Anna announced their engagement in March 2017 — the pair were longtime friends but only dated for less than one year. She told Us Weekly, “We just got engaged! I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend — Austin made it so romantic, it’s amazing!”
Three months later, they were hitched and Austin told the TLC cameras — during an episode of Counting On — how great it was not to have a chaperone following them around anymore. “Now that we’re finally married and we don’t have a chaperone, it is a lot different. It is pretty cool that we can just go places on our own and we don’t have to have someone watching us. It is pretty amazing,” he shared. The couple welcomed their first child, Gideon Martyn Forsyth, in February.

'Men are lazy, drunken and selfish': Suffragette gives HILARIOUS marriage advice to women
WITH a century passing since women got the vote a pamphlet on marriage advice from a suffragette wife has emerged and gone viral.
The leaflet is aimed at ‘young ladies’ and has eight tips, and is currently on display in the Pontypridd Museum in Wales.
Some of the best professions include window fitters
A photo of the pamphlet was shared on twitter and has since gone viral, racking up more than 8,000 likes.
Ironically the first piece of advice is “Do not marry at all.”
It then goes on to warn women against certain types of men, if they have to wed.
The sorts of men women should steer clear of are ‘flirts’, ‘beauty men’ and ‘football enthusiasts’.
It goes on to suggest the best varieties of guys would be window cleaners, coal getters, and should be “strong”.
The advice starts with a warning against marriage
The anonymous wife warns women “not to expect too much”, and describes men as “’lazy, selfish, thoughtless, lying, drunken, clumsy, heavy-footed, rough, unmanly brutes, and need taming”.
She goes on to say many bachelors are this way, but some are worse.
Despite all men’s misgivings, the espouses the age-old wisdom that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
She tells prospective wives to “feed the brute”.
In a back-handed compliment, she also says that this is the best way to deal with dogs.
Both men and dogs should be fed well
She finishes the pamphlet by saying it is wiser not to chance marriage, as it isn’t worth the risk.
People have been taking the advice on board, with one person replying on social media: “In my head I’m number 3 but suspect in reality I’m number 4.”
Another said: “I agree, feed me and I’ll swill the yard.”
This woman replied: “Im after the window cleaners now.”
Others thought their prospects may have improved, posting: “Come & get me ladies…bona fide Yard Swiller here. Form an orderly queue.”

Chrissy Teigen's marriage advice
Chrissy Teigen is sharing how she makes it work with husband John Legend.
“I think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime,” she said in an interview with Well+Good published Wednesday. “I love the mentality of ‘us against the world.’ Even when you have kids, never forget your relationship as partners and lovers—that’s so important.”
The couple has been married since 2013 and are parents to daughter Luna, 23 months. They are expecting a baby boy this spring.
Teigen, 32, who has been candid about her struggles with infertility and postpartum depression, noted the importance of communication despite whatever craziness kids bring along.
“Even when we have Luna going insane, it’s important to be able to look at each other and be like, ‘We created this thing and we’re going to solve it together,’” she explained. “Sometimes I don’t want to make John feel good and I’m sure he has the same with me, but it’s my keen advice to do it anyway.”
Legend, 39, has opened up about being in a relationship with Teigen as well, also accepting their imperfections.
“I don’t want to present myself as the ‘perfect spouse’ and I don’t want to present our relationship as the ‘perfect relationship’ because I don’t think anybody meets that definition,” he told Cosmo in August. “I think it’s too much pressure to put on anyone.”
Legend, who just wrapped up a tour in Asia, is starring in a live staging of “Jesus Christ Superstar” on Easter Sunday. Earlier this week, he posted a sweet snapshot of him holding Luna on set.
