Jada Pinkett Smith's Latest Marriage Advice Is a Must-Read for All Couples
As far as Hollywood marriages go, Jada Pinkett Smith’s commitment to Will Smith, and vice versa, has been perhaps one of the biggest testaments to love in the industry in the last few decades.
The pair, who met on the set of Smith’s former hit sitcom, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, got hitched in December 1997, and are parents to two talented, multi-hyphenate children: daughter Willow, 17, and son Jaden, 20. In a post to Instagram this weeekend, then, Pinkett Smith mused about the many marriages she’s noticed disintegrating around her as of late, and she had a few words of advice for those going through the “painful” process.
“I’ve been watching a lot [of] marriages dissolve around me,” the 46-year-old actress wrote. “It’s been really painful. Marriages changes. Sometimes they need to be reimagined and transformed. Sometimes they are simply over … but either way, I pray that folks going thru this painful transition find the patience and the love within to not throw the ‘babies’ out with the bath water. #family.”
In the accompanying image, Pinkett Smith and her husband, 49, look happy and carefree as they take a stroll with their two kids, a bright blue sky and swaying palm trees behind them.
Earlier this summer, Smith opened up about his marriage to Pinkett Smith, revealing that they have been together for so long and love each other in such a way that they no longer even call themselves married anymore.
“We refer to ourselves as life partners, where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life,” he told Tidal’s Rap Radar podcast. “[There are] no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do—ever—nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death and it feels so good to get to that space.”
Pinkett Smith has similarly referenced their status as “life partners” before, telling “Sway in the Morning” in June, “Here’s the thing about Will and I—[we] are family. That is never going down,” she said. “It’s just not. Ever. We are family. Take out all that whole marriage/relationship crap, at the end of the day, Will and I are family. I am going to hold him down, doesn’t matter. … At the end of the day, that is a man that can rely on me for the rest of his life, period.”

Sonam Kapoor seeks marriage advice from Karan Johar; finding it difficult to cope with new life?
Sonam Kapoor seeks marriage advice from Karan JoharInstagram
Sonam Kapoor is enjoying her married life with Anand Ahuja and their pictures on social media certainly gives a glimpse of their happiness. But it did not stop her from seeking advice from her friend and filmmaker Karan Johar to make things even better.
Karan Johar recently got a call from Sonam on the show Calling Karan. The actress sought tips from KJo on ideal ways to adjust in the first year of marriage.
Although Karan is not an expert in this field, he did give some valuable suggestions to Sonam. According to him, one of the main prerequisites in the subject is patience.
“Not that I am a marital expert Sonam! Adjustments are critical because practically being husband and wife, living together, you get privy to all the habits that your partner has that sometimes may not be in conjunction with yours. So the first thing, I really want to tell you is, patience,” he reportedly told her on the show.
“It could be anything that may not be in conjunction. First, understand the schedule, routine habits, and then if something really difficult, then try and talk about it. But not definitely in the first year, you don’t want to come out so strong and cause roadblocks, initially,” the filmmaker said.

Well, Karan himself might not have married, but he seems to be having a good knowledge about how to maintain relationships. Although Sonam’s social media feeds suggest that the couple is having a gala time together, asking Karan for advice might leave fans wondering if she is finding it little hard to cope with the changes after marriage.
Sonam’s wedding was a starry affair as it was attended by almost all the big celebrities from the industry. After a royal marriage ceremony, a grand reception was held in Mumbai that had stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan among others dancing.
Dear Abby: Can marriage be saved after husband sleeps with daughter's best friend
Advice: Because you want to make your marriage work, with the help of a licensed marriage and family counselor, you and your husband should analyze what led to his infidelity.
DEAR ABBY: My husband and I have been married 23 years. A month ago, he slept with my daughter’s best friend.
As soon as it happened, he told me what he’d done. He said he felt like I didn’t love him anymore and admitted he made a mistake. I can tell he truly feels ashamed. Nonetheless I am hurting, confused, angry, and I can’t stop having visions of the two of them together.
We are trying to make our marriage work. I love him, and I can’t picture my life without him, but I can’t stop torturing myself. I have to let this go if our marriage is going to work. Do you have any suggestions to help me with this? — TORTURING MYSELF IN ALABAMA
DEAR TORTURING YOURSELF: Yes, I do have one. But before I offer it, let me point out that all of the emotions you are feeling are normal under the circumstances. Because you want to make your marriage work, with the help of a licensed marriage and family counselor, you and your husband should analyze what led to his infidelity. Your doctor should be able to refer you at the same time he or she gives you both the results of your STD examinations.
DEAR ABBY: We are good friends with a couple who have taken two very nice vacations a year for the last several years. We are all in our late 60s.
When they book their trips, they intentionally fail to include ground transportation to and from the airport. They rely on having friends take them. The airport is about 45 minutes from where we live. They never offer to cover gas or parking for the trips. I feel it’s inconsiderate and poor manners. The wife is a very good friend. Her husband books the vacations, and she has to do the “begging.”
My husband and I take a limo to the airport. None of us lack the money for vacations. We now just make excuses to not accommodate them. I would appreciate your opinion. Should we just tell them the truth? — AGGRAVATED IN ATLANTA
DEAR AGGRAVATED: By all means tell your close friend the truth. And when you do, pass along the name and number of the limo company you use.
DEAR ABBY: My wife passed away six years ago. I have finally reached a point where I’m ready to not be alone anymore. The problem is I’m interested in one of her sisters. I love and care for the whole family, and it would devastate me to lose them by revealing it. Am I way off base to even think of pursuing it? Should I drop it or talk with her to find out her thoughts? Maybe I shouldn’t try because it’s not “normal,” but I am interested in the possibility. — FORBIDDEN LOVE IN TEXAS
DEAR FORBIDDEN LOVE: This situation isn’t as unusual as you may think. In biblical times, when a woman lost her husband, it was expected that his brother would marry her. If your late wife’s sister is single, tell her how you feel. You have known her long enough that those feelings may or may not be mutual — but no law says you can’t find out.

Meghan Markle’s Suits co-star Wendell Pierce, who plays her father, has opened up about the honest advice he gave her before the royal wedding
The Duchess of Sussex‘s on-screen father, Wendell Pierce, has spoken out about his final scenes with her in Suits – and the very honest advice he gave her ahead of the recent royal wedding. Speaking in an interview with The Telegraph, he described the day Meghan filmed her climactic final marriage scenes with co-star Patrick J Adams. “We had a moment I cherish,” he said. “I was sitting with Meghan in her wedding dress, as we waited for a set-up. We were alone. I said to her, ‘Your life is going to change.”

He continued: “It’s going to be amazing but I want you to know that I’m your friend, and no matter where you are or what’s going on – if the fishbowl that you’re in ever starts getting to you – you can call me.”

Wendell also opened up about how he and Meghan coped with the reaction to their father-daughter relationship in Suits – since his casting lead to racial prejudice from some viewers on Twitter, not realising that the Duchess is mixed race.

“The ignorance that is racism is a given,” he said. “Like gravity, it’s there, it exists. You should always be vigilant for it and prepared for it.” The 54-year-old actor appeared with his on-screen daughter from the second series of Suits onwards, playing high-powered attorney Robert Zane.

Meghan’s marriage scene in Suits
New royal Meghan recently admitted to a fan that she misses her life as an actress. During July’s walkabout in Dublin with husband Prince Harry, one viewer, Fiona Moore, recalled her conversation with the Duchess. “I’m a fan of Suits and I said to her that I miss it and she said ‘so do I’,” she said. Of Meghan, she added: “She seemed very relaxed and was joking and laughing.”

In April, Meghan’s character Rachel Zane was written out of the show in emotional scenes, which mirrored her own real-life romance. Rachel married Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, in the season seven finale – just a month before walking down the aisle at St George’s Chapel.
