Priyanka Chopra- Nick Jonas’ engagement: Here’s Madhu Chopra’s special advice for the couple | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Priyanka Chopra is super close with her mother Madhu Chopra as many already know. Now that it is coming to light that PeeCee is actually getting engaged to Nick Jonas, her mother would definitely be the happiest soul at the occasion. However, she also has a word of advice for the couple.
In an interview, Madhu shared her views on what constitutes as a marriage. She said that for a marriage to succeed, the couple should not argue but instead should sit and listen to each person’s perspective. She also added that a husband must be competent enough to take care of his wife in sickness and in health. According to her, marriage has to be worked on every single day and she feels that these sentiments have been instilled in Priyanka since a very young age. Now that’s some sound advice for the two.
Dear Amy: My wife and I have been together for 15 years. We have three children.
I would describe our marriage as normal; we’ve gotten into arguments, but things always tend to bounce back to normal after a few days. There has not been any abuse of any kind. Our house is a healthy one.
We agree on all the major topics, such as politics, religion, money and child-rearing.
About a year ago, she started a new job. After an argument, she said that we aren’t soulmates, that I don’t “get” her and that she thinks we should get a divorce.
In 15 years, she had never mentioned these things to me, so it came off as a red flag. After some snooping, I found out she was Snapchatting with a (male) co-worker. I was devastated. I immediately went into save-my-marriage mode. We went to counseling, I worked on the aspects of my personality that she didn’t like, and changed some behaviors. She promised to only maintain a professional relationship with the guy at work. She has since canceled our counseling because she says it’s not working. She has moved out, and come to find out she’s been lying to me because she never stopped talking to him!
After looking through our cellphone bill, she would call him anywhere from two to six times a day, almost every day. When I confronted her, she claims he is only a friend, their conversations just flow and that he’s a good sounding board, since he doesn’t know our entire history. Am I a fool to believe this?
She says we should break up because of our past and brings up all of our past arguments. But I am willing to work on those things and try to become a better person, husband, and father. Is she just using our past as an excuse to be with this guy? I’ve lost weight, have trouble sleeping and eating and have gone on antidepressants. — Feel Like a Fool
Dear Feel Like a Fool: Brother, I have walked in your shoes. I’m very sorry this is happening to you and your family. But it will get better for you.
Your wife says she has given up on counseling because it “isn’t working.” The reason counseling isn’t working — is because she does not want it to.
At this point, I hope you will focus on your own health and healing — and on the emotional health of your children. In short, you cannot control you wife’s feelings, or her actions. You do you. A groundbreaking book which may put some of this behavior into focus for you is: “Not Just Friends: Rebuilding Trust and Recovering Your Sanity After Infidelity,” by Shirley P. Glass and Jean Coppock Staeheli (2004, Atria Books). This classic “how to” on how to rebuild a relationship will put your wife’s behavior into context. It also offers a roadmap to recovery, which might work for you (and your wife, if she is willing to try).
Dear Amy: I’m a 60-year-old single woman who recently lost a friend of 40 years to cancer.
My friend’s husband, “Jack,” 64, is a wonderful man and misses her terribly. Jack and I spoke at some length at the memorial service and I sensed he could use some companionship.
He invited me to return to the memorial service venue after I took my mother home for what he said would be “the inner circle after-party.” I didn’t return, but now regret it, and want to contact him.
What is your guidance regarding a woman reaching out to a recent widower to offer her company?

All our mutual friends and family are watching; a misstep would cost me dearly. — Wondering
Dear Wondering: The only misstep I could imagine would be you throwing yourself at this new widower.
But you are not going to do that. You need only contact him to say, “I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to attend the gathering after “Jill’s” service. How are you doing?”
Reach out in friendship, and follow his cues.
Dear Amy: Thank you for your compassion regarding the challenging 10-year-old daughter, “Tally,” whose “Befuddled Mom” wrote to you. I especially appreciated that you suggested music and theater — both as outlets and as communities for this child. — Appreciative
Dear Appreciative: I was active in sports as well as music and theater in my (very) small school; and later also in college. Sports always fulfilled an important need (for me), but music and theater always felt like family.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are reportedly hosting an engagement party today, August 18. Ahead of the grand event, let us take a look at the advice Priyanka’s mom Madhu Chopra has for the couple.
Madhu Chopra’s advice for Priyanka and Nick
Priyanka Chopra and fiance Nick Jonas have been making headlines for a while now. There were reports that the two had got engaged in a private ceremony. While there was no confirmation on this development, PeeCee removing a diamond ring at the airport did suggest that the couple had gotten engaged. Amid these rumours Nick, on Thursday night, landed in Mumbai.
If the latest reports are anything to go by, he is in the city for an engagement party, which will be hosted by Priyanka. And going by the couple’s recent public appearances, it does seem like these reports are true.
Priyanka Chopra’s mom Madhu Chopra in an interview with Zoomtv.com gave us a glimpse into her definition of a perfect marriage, which we think is very good advice for the couple. In the interview, talking about her own marriage with Priyanka’s father Ashok Chopra she stated that a marriage should be built brick by brick and every day should be like Valentines Day.
In the interview, she further stated that the husband should be qualified enough to take care of his wife in health and happiness. Going back on her own marriage with Priyanka’s father she added that they don’t argue or fight but sit and listen to each other’s point of view. This is the perfect wedding lesson for the newly- engaged couple. She further added that these lessons have been instilled in Priyanka since a very young age.
Priyanka and Nick made their first public appearance at MET Gala 2017. Very shortly after that meeting, the rumours of two being in a relationship with each other started doing the rounds. In May this year, the couple went to Los Angeles for a vacation. In June, Nick came to India to reportedly meet Priyanka’s mom Madhu Chopra
Jana Kramer has been open about her relationship struggles with Michael Caussin following his infidelity and now the couple is sharing their marriage advice in a new video series titled “Have a Seat with Jana & Mike.”
“You asked, we answered!!!” Jana captions a 16-minute video on YouTube. “Mike and I answered to the best we could some of the DM’s ya’ll sent me through Instagram. Hope this helps and again this is just our opinion on stuff…so take it or leave it. Love ya’ll and let me know if this is something you guys want to see more of or not!”
In the video, Jana and Mike answer a wide range of fan questions from marriage advice for young couples to dealing with infidelity and how to create better communication with one’s spouse. In the clip, Jana suggests newlyweds give their marriage time when arguments arise. “Don’t just be like, ‘Okay, it’s not working. We’re done,’” she says. Husband Mike agrees and adds that couples shouldn’t rush their lives.
“Don’t rush, ‘Okay, we got married. We have to have kids and we have to do this and that,’” he says. “Enjoy your life don’t feel rushed because people are rushing you from the outside. One step at a time.”
The couple says in order to create better communication they make sure they check-in with each other almost every night. During these “check-in’s” they’ll ask about their day, their feelings and what’s going on in their lives. Mike explains it as a way to keep couples as “real-time” as possible. And, if one party isn’t in the space to have a discussion that’s okay. Come back later when the other partner is in a head space to truly listen, they suggest.
The couple also touched upon Mike’s infidelity and said a huge part of getting past the situation was him sitting down with Jana and key members of her family to address the issue at hand.
“For me, personally, when I got hurt, my entire family felt like they got hurt and betrayed and let down in a way because they loved him and trusted him like I did and do,” Jana explains. “It was so important to me with certain family members that you had that conversation. My mom always said to me, ‘I love Michael and if you love him and you’re going to try working through it then we need to also get on board too.’”
Michael adds that regardless of the amount of shame, embarrassment and pain he had as a perpetrator, he knew he had to address the elephant in the room with Jana’s family.
“You want to sweep it under the rug in your own mind and pretend it never happened and move on. It’s hard to see the pain in the family of the person you love but [you have to] have a conversation. It is what you have to do. There really is no way around it,” he explains.
