Sunil Grover to attend Kapil Sharma’s wedding reception upon Salman Khan’s advice? – DBPOST

Mumbai: Ace comedian Sunil Grover has finally decided to let bygones be bygones. Yes, after almost two years, he has finally decided to patch up with Kapil Sharma by attending his wedding reception on December 24 in Mumbai. However, did you know that initially Sunil wanted to avoid his presence in Kapil’s wedding reception?

A little birdie informs, “While shooting for film Bharat with Salman Khan, Sunil had made up his mind to patch up with Kapil Sharma. He is ready to work with Kapil in his upcoming show too. Obviously, Salman Khan played the role of a patch-maker between the two. But when it came to attending Kapil’s wedding; Sunil wasn’t sure. His professional team is aware with the fact that Kapil and Sunil together will make a headline and so they had advised him to grab this headline through the upcoming comedy show. But this time too, Sunil decided to go with Salman’s advice.”

Our source further added, “It was Salman’s advice to Sunil that he should attend Kapil’s wedding ceremony and all should be sort out between the two before they start working together on one platform. Obviously, it’s hard to ignore Salman’s advice and so finally, Sunil and Kapil will make their first appearance together soon.”

Confirming his presence to Dainik Bhaskar, Sunil Grover said, “Honestly, I had some prior commitment and so it was not possible for me to attend his wedding in Amritsar. But yes, I am going to attend his Mumbai reception for sure. All is well between us.”

For the uninitiated, last year (March 2017), a drunk Kapil had physically and verbally assaulted Sunil in a flight while coming back from an event.

Congress Leader's Advice To Yogi Adityanath On Ram Statue In Ayodhya – NDTV News

New Delhi:

A giant Lord Ram statue planned in Ayodhya should have one of Sita by its side, Congress leader Karan Singh has suggested in a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. “If you have taken the decision to construct a magnificent idol of Lord Rama, then it is better to reduce the height of Rama statue to half and build a couple statue of both Ram and Sita instead,” Mr Singh wrote of the 221-metre statue project announced by the Uttar Pradesh government two weeks ago.

The Congress veteran wrote that Sita statue deserves a respected place in Ayodhya as she never got to live in the holy city. “After getting married, Sita came to Ayodhya, but soon after she had to accompany Ram and Laksmana on a 14-year exile. During that time, she was kidnapped by Ravana and had to live in captivity in Sri Lanka,”  Mr Singh said.

After Sita was saved by Ram, she had to take the ‘agni pariksha (trial by fire)’, he added, and she had to then spend the rest of her life in exile depite being pregnant.

“Sita deserves her place in Ayodhya,” Mr Singh suggested in the letter.

The Uttar Pradesh government had announced that the proposed statue of Lord Ram would be made of bronze and will measure 221 metres along with its pedestal, and the “chattra” over his head would be 20 metres, a press release by the state government had said. A representational photograph of the statue was also shared with the media. The possible location or cost of the statue were not detailed.

I want to snub my sister on my wedding day: Ask Ellie – TheSpec.com

You don’t have to be close to her. But don’t fool yourself that you’re ready for “starting a new chapter” when you’re still willing to punish her for the past.

The point of a religious wedding ceremony is not just about the bride and groom … it’s about truly new beginnings, with vows before witnesses — family, friends, and guests — such that all are participants in the wedding covenant.

Include this sister in the bridal party among your other sisters, who’ll help deflect/avoid awkwardness between you two.

Q: Once again, my sister-in-law’s brother emailed that he’s coming for Christmas dinner. My wife and I invited him when he was single, and five years later he just assumes he’s invited, and brings his girlfriend-of-the-month.

Last year, even his sister hadn’t met her until they arrived, bringing nothing, though he’d been asked to contribute a dessert because everyone contributes something to the meal.

The girlfriend was embarrassed when he was asked what they’d brought, loudly telling him off for not getting something. He lamely answered, that he remembered “too late.”

We’re happy to invite our own family which has us, three teenage-to-adult children and two longtime significant others, plus my wife’s brother and wife, along with their three adult children and partners and two grandkids. That’s 17 of us already.

We understand that he’s just one guy and don’t want him to be alone, but his taking the invitation for granted and coming empty-handed, rankles me.

How do we handle this without losing the goodwill we want to feel at Christmas?

Fed Up

A: Send him an email reminding him that everyone who attends contributes to this Christmas dinner. Then be specific about what he needs to bring as his offering — e.g. exactly what kind of pie for dessert. Even tell him where he can get it and when is the best time to buy it for freshness.

Since he brings his own guest, ask him to also bring a drink of their choice — if you don’t serve alcohol, then a juice. Also, if you have certain house rules — e.g. no smoking inside – remind him to tell this to his latest companion.

Ellie’s tip of the day

A wedding event’s “fresh start” attitude is more possible if old baggage isn’t carried forward and in public view.
