When Jennifer Lopez starred in The Wedding Planner, she was the woman behind the scenes, giving advice about vows, relationships, and centerpieces all day, every day. And now, it sounds like a little bit of her character, Mary Fiore, has followed her into real life. Lopez gave advice to a Tinder user recently, and it couldn’t have been more spot-on.
In a new video from Tinder’s “Swipe Sessions” series, Lopez sat down with a woman named Brooke Ansley to offer her some help finding a mate on the dating app. Brooke said she has only recently started to date online, and that she’s looking for a manly man. After Lopez took a look at Brooke’s profile, she gave her a few pointers.
Not only did Lopez help Brooke swipe through a few guys, but she also shared her thoughts on which guys would make a good partner and which wouldn’t.
After seeing a profile for a dude named Maurice, who is 29, she offered up some valuable advice: “Guys, until they’re 33, are really useless,” Lopez said. Not sure how valid that is for all guys under 33, but we have heard that men mature slower than women, so she could be onto something there.
She also let Brooke know which kinds of messages she should and should not be sending. For the record, “Can you chop wood?” is not a good question to ask someone who looks outdoorsy.
A guy named Levi, who bragged about how he can two-step, was Lopez’s favorite. She messaged him some of her lyrics, and he replied with a GIF of Lopez, which definitely made her love him even more.
The whole video is worth watching, and it might even help you out next time you’re swiping through the endless rotation of people you could end up hitting it off with. Now we need more insights from Lopez. Can she make this a regular thing?

It’s been officially confirmed that Celebs Go Dating will be back for a fifth series.
One thing will be missing, though, and that’s Eden Blackman.
The 50-year-old dating expert is no longer going to be doling out advice alongside Nadia Essex and Tom Read Blackman, and it seems to be down to the dating site he invented; wouldliketomeet.me.
Eden founded his own dating site (Picture: WENN)
In an Instagram statement Eden said, ‘I’m immensely proud of the show’s success but after four great series, it’s now time for me to fully commit to my other projects – 2018 will see me relaunch my dating app ‘Would Like to Meet’ and also marks the 18th year of my music PR agency – these remain my biggest passions and take up a great deal of my time.
‘On top of this, I’m also in the process of developing a further new business that is yet to be announced… so it’s a really exciting time. I’m thankful to everyone at Lime Pictures and C4 for the opportunity.

Fans believed that there may have been more than met the eye, and his departure could have been down to a feud with fellow expert Nadia Essex.
After The Sun reported that Eden was cheating with his girlfriend with a show contestant – Chanelle Sadie Paul – Nadia liked a tweet from Love Island’s Olivia Buckland which read: ‘When I read the headlines about you cheating on your poor girlfriend while calling yourself a relationship expert.’
Eden then made a comment about outfits on the show which some felt was directed towards Nadia. Check it out:
Lady Nadia denied Eden leaving had anything to do with her despite the seemingly snide remarks.

In a tweet, the dating coach said, ‘In response to further reports today that Eden left Celebs Go Dating because of a fall out with me, I want to set the record straight that his decision to leave the show was for his own reasons and was absolutely nothing to do with me.’
Eden’s replacement hasn’t yet been confirmed yet, nor has the start date for series five.
Have you heard of this? It’s a thing. I have it – and didn’t even realize it.
What is the first thing you do when you’re single and you see someone attractive? Keep looking until you make eye-contact and then look down bashfully? Find a reason to get closer? Or, are you super confident and walk right up?
I’ve done the walk-up-and-strike-conversation thing before… only to have said attractive man’s significant other walk up and beautifully introduce herself.
(That reminds me of an old-school Alanis Morissette song…“It’s like meeting the man of my dreams… and then meeting his beautiful wife. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?” …Well, damn, am I totally aging myself?)
Anyway, yeah, I stopped doing that.
Now, being in my thirties and single, the first thing I do is look for a ring. My eyes instinctively shoot to the left hand, ring finger. It’s like a reflex.
I didn’t even realize I was doing it until one day, I was chatting with a fellow single lady friend from church. She said, “Yeah, do you have ‘ring radar’ now? I totally do.” I was like, “Um, what the heck is that?” She explained.
We girls, who have tried the confident lock eyes, move closer, and even walk-up approach in the past, have been burned and/or embarrassed enough to know it may be in everyone’s best interest to keep a distance. At least at first. It’s important to be cautious, right? So, we look for proof of singledom before we take any kind of initiative.
I know what you’re thinking – a ring isn’t the only answer to whether or not someone is, in fact, single. I know. I’ve learned this lesson the hard way, too. But it IS a start.
The longer we are single, the better we get at inferring and piecing all the things together.
Scene: He’s alone at Target, with no list and no ring…
Discreetly follow him to the next aisle.
Confirmed: No list, no ring – two definitive “taken” signs to eliminate.
In his cart. No feminine products? Random items strewn about in his cart? Two more good signs.
Linger a bit, make eye contact. Smile. Maybe even reach for the same item and giggle.
But, keep in mind, this a dating advice column in reverse… so maybe don’t take advice from me. The last time I tried this, dude smiled back and kindly whispered, “You’re cute. But I’m gay.”
*Sigh*
And clearly not very discreet, after all.
Tell me, single friends, do YOU have “ring radar?” Do you have surefire ways of knowing if someone is single? Share them with me!
As a young professional working woman, I often find myself asking: what more can I be doing? Sure, my entry-level income pays the bills, but who doesn’t want a little extra cash on the side? Well, YoPros, it’s time for us to find our hidden value and start cashing in on it.
What do I mean by hidden value? Well, to start, think about some things you do every day that you can monetize. Are there parts of your character that are just begging for a payout, outside of your 9-5? Take a look around your home – are there places begging to be de-cluttered where you could stumble upon a gold mine? Here are some suggestions to get you started on finding the hidden values in your life.
1.) Clear your shelves
There could be items in your home that you’ve had for so long that you’ve just gotten used to them being there. For starters, take a look at your closet. Do you have any shirts, jackets, pants, handbags, or even shoes that you haven’t worn or used in the last year? Well, take them out of your closet, and head over to your nearest consignment shop!
After all, it’s 2018. There must be an online way to get your old wardrobe out of your life and some money in your pocket online. Services like thredUP and Poshmark are great ways to de-clutter your closet. After you sign up, thredUP sends a postal bag to your address free of charge for you to fill with anyitems (clothes, shoes, bags – you name it) that were made in the last 5 years. Once your bag is full, simply seal it and leave it outside for the mail carrier to pick up. You don’t even have to pay for shipping! In a few weeks, thredUP will pay you out for your items in the form of online store-credit, or a PayPal card, which you can then cash out.
When you use Poshmark, you are the seller – and in charge. Just snap a photo of your item and upload it with a brief description to your Poshmark account. When you have a buyer, Poshmark will send you a pre-paid label to ship your item off. It becomes cash in your pocket once the item is delivered.
After your closet is taken care of, take a look at the other shelves in your home. Do you have books you haven’t touched that you’d be willing to part with? List them on Amazon for a quick pick-up.
*Hidden Value Bonus Tip: Do you know about smile.amazon.com? By typing in this address, you can connect your Amazon account to a charity of your choice, like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Best Friend Animal Society. Any time you make an eligible purchase, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate .5% of the price of the items to the charity you chose. You’re already making the purchase – why not make your daily shopping a charitable act?
2.) Convert your brain cells to coinage
You’ve probably heard that the tutoring business is a goldmine, with some tutors charging upwards of $100 an hour. However, if the thought of revisiting the SATs or any high school curriculum makes your head spin, consider tutoring in something you’re certainly familiar with – your native language!
Apply to programs like Qkids to teach English to kids in China via video chat or Skype. You can earn anywhere from $20-$30 an hour, and you won’t have to leave your house to do so! If you’re eligible to work in the United States or Canada, a bachelor’s degree and previous teaching/tutoring experience is all you need.
3.) Swipe right for cash
Well, in a sense. If academic tutoring isn’t for you, consider sharing your expertise in something a bit more, erm, personal. Did you know that some online dating consultants charge up to $129 for an hour of one-on-one video coaching on the rules of dating in the modern age? If you’re the person friends call upon to help reply to Tinder messages or set up dating profiles, consider creating your own website and offering dating advice for a fee. The only expertise required is that which you cultivate by getting on these sites and figuring out what does – and what doesn’t – work in the world of online dating.
4.) A different kind of nurturing
You may be years away from having kids of your own, but that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace your nurturing side to earn some money now. While babysitting and nannying may be the first options that come to mind, consider offering your services to a different demographic – senior citizens! Consider joining a “grandkids on-demand” service like “Papa,” which connects college students to senior citizens who need transportation, help around the house, or simply, companionship. Visits can range from spending a few hours at a park with your Pal to even joining them at a wedding. At minimum, you’ll earn $10 for your visit. Papa is currently available in Florida, but is expanding quickly to other states. Keep an eye out for it!
5.) Every dog will have its pay-day
Are you a dog-lover with no time for a pooch of your own? This ought to get your tail wagging (ok, I’m done!). Companies like Wag! and Rover connect enthusiastic animal-aficionados with dog-owners interested in hiring people for day-to-day services like dog walks, or long-term services, like pet-sitting. The application requirements listed on Wag! include a desire to bond with dogs, work outside, and being “physically fit enough to walk several hours a day.” If this sounds like you, apply today.
6.) From screen-scroll to payroll
Picture this – you’re on your lunch break with 15 minutes to kill. You can either update your Instagram feed “one last time” or you can put a quick buck in your pocket. The choice is yours! Apps like Google Opinion Rewards allow you to take online surveys and provide feedback to real companies, all while putting cash in your pocket. Mind you- each survey may only earn you up to 10¢ at a time, but once you’ve accrued a minimum amount of money, you can cash out using PayPal. You might as well get paid for all that time you spend on your phone!
